CORC is having Faith Days on the Hill throughout the legislative session. That's a day for particular faith groups to come up to Capitol Hill and advocate on poverty issues. For each Faith Day, we meet at 9 a.m. in the Seagull Room of the Senate building (just off the cafeteria). We bring everyone up to speed on that day's issues before we head over to talk to legislators.
Here are the dates we've set aside:
Tue., 2/2: United Church of Christ
Thu., 2/4: Catholics/Muslims
Tue., 2/9: interfaith day (including Greek Orthodox, Jewish, etc.)
Thu., 2/11: Lutherans/Presbyterians
Tue., 2/16: LDS/American Baptists
Thu., 2/18: United Methodists/Quakers
Tue., 2/23: Episcopalians/Unitarians
But really, anybody is welcome to come on any day. You don't have to be a member of that particular faith group, nor of any faith group.
You just have to care about the poor!
